When Jamal Murray went 3-13 in the first half of Game 2, not many could have predicted that he was about to go on an absolute tear in the next two halves of this series.
After his 23-point outburst in the fourth quarter on Thursday, Murray exploded for 30 points in the first half of Game 3 and NBA fans were in shock after that.

While you can question some of the defense that has been played on him, most of these shots are very difficult ones and he just kept making them. Murray was 13-20 from the field and 4-8 from beyond the arc in what was one of the greatest first halves we have seen in playoff history. He had helped the Denver Nuggets go up double digits in this game at one point, but the Los Angeles Lakers have bounced back and are only down 58-55 at the half. Murray needs his teammates, especially Nikola Jokic, who has 5 points on 2-8 shooting, to get going as well, as he alone can only do so much.
Jamal Murray Wanted More Respect
The Nuggets as a whole have certainly felt they haven’t gotten the respect they deserve for a team that sat at the top of the standings in the West for basically this whole season. They have silenced their doubters by getting this far and have their eyes on their first-ever title.
Murray stated that the fact that the media keeps talking about their opponents even after they win will make their title win that much sweeter. He also stated that personally, he feels he isn’t respected enough and that will certainly change after this postseason.
