There is no doubt that LeBron James is one of the best scorers of all time, despite him being a pass-first player at his core. However, in the playoffs with the Los Angeles Lakers, his scoring has decreased, and part of the reason for that is the superstar struggling with his 3PT shot.

Head coach Darvin Ham has recently given an honest take on the poor shooting from LeBron James, noting that he wants James to continue being aggressive, also stating that he knows the superstar is “capable” of making 3PT shots.

“It looked like the all-time leading scorer in NBA history taking a shot that was being given to him. The numbers say what they say, but I know he’s capable of making those shots. So I don’t want him to be any less aggressive.”

Darvin Ham on LeBron James' poor 3-point shooting: "It looked like the all-time leading scorer in NBA history taking a shot that was being given to him. The numbers say what they say, but I know he's capable of making those shots. So I don't want him to be any less aggressive."

The Los Angeles Lakers will definitely need LeBron James to improve his shooting to beat the Denver Nuggets. They need him to support the team not only via his playmaking but also his overall scoring.

Going into Game 3 against the Denver Nuggets, LeBron James has averaged 23.5 PPG, 10.1 RPG, and 5.9 APG in the playoffs. He has been a fantastic overall player, and if he ups his scoring, the Lakers will have a realistic chance of winning the championship.

Stephen A. Smith Believes LeBron James Needs To Stop Shooting 3PT Shots

Historically, LeBron James has been known more for his slashing ability rather than his 3PT shooting. In fact, analyst Stephen A. Smith has recently claimed that the star needs to stop shooting 3PT shots. Others have expressed similar sentiments, and he has been criticized for shooting “unnecessary” 3PT shots as well.

“Show your muscles every chance you get. Use them! Stop shooting the three! Stay off the threeeeee… Please,” Smith said on his self-named show.

As of the time of writing, LeBron James is shooting 0-3 from 3PT range in Game 3. Hopefully, that ends up turning around for him, as the Lakers clearly need his spacing. However, it is fair to say that James is impacting the other areas of the game at a high level, and eventually, his shot will fall. However, the Lakers will pray that it doesn’t start falling too late, and we’ll see what ends up happening in the future.
