Stephen A. Smith called out Julius Randle and urged the Knicks to trade the forward after their Game 4 loss.

Stephen A. Smith called for some changes to ring in after the New York Knicks lost Game 4 to the Miami Heat.

“I think they should trade him. If you can get your hands on a KAT, I think they should take it. With durability, I don’t think anybody can compete with Julius Randle,” Smith said on First Take.

“He is Mr. Reliable, played the first 77 games of the season, played the last 5 games. But I am talking about a talent perspective. I would rather have a Karl Anthony-Towns than a Julius Randle. And I know he is 32 years old. You know what I would do that? And I know I am dreaming, but I am allowed to dream. We are sufferers, and once again we are going to suffer at the hands of the Miami Heat and Jimmy Butler.”

Randle had 20 points in Game 4, but he also had six turnovers and fouled out with more than three minutes remaining. In his absence, the Heat consolidated further and walked away with a 109-101 win taking a decisive 3-1 lead.

It’s understandable that Smith, a lifelong Knicks fan, went on a rant against Randle. He had a similar complaint on Get Up, calling the forward’s performance disappointing.

“I’m so disgusted with Julius Randle. I’m so disgusted with R.J. Barrett. A little less, I am not disgusted with anyone more than I am with Julius Randle. I am on the verge of asking him to be traded. I am just disgusted.”

The Knicks now face a tough challenge as they head back to Madison Square Garden for a must-win Game 5. And Randle will hope that he can bounce back and keep his team’s playoff run alive against a belligerent Heat.

Julius Randle Calls Out The Knicks After Game 4 Loss

Julius Randle didn’t mince his words when he called out his team for their rebounding after their crushing loss. Speaking to the media in the aftermath of the defeat, “Maybe they want it more, I don’t know,” the forward said.

“That’s been who we are all year, and we’ve got to find a way to step up and make those plays if we want to keep this season alive.”

The Knicks will need to make some changes to their game plan if they intend to stop the Jimmy Butler Express. The latter has been consistent and has been a thorn for the Knicks, breaching their defenses. Can Randle and New York force a Game 6? Only time will tell.
