Superstar LeBron James is one of the best players of all time, and many consider him a top 2 player of all time. He received hype even from his high school days, and it is fair to say he has achieved more than enough to warrant it.

Though he had some doubters, LeBron James also had plenty of supporters early in his basketball playing days. In fact, legendary center Bill Walton raved about his talent during his time in high school, noting that James has “the absolute complete package.”

“The closer we look, the better this guy appears. He has the absolute complete package. His ability to make his teammates the star of the game, delivering the ball on the mark. When things break down, he can shake and bake and create his own shot. Unparalleled athleticism… Basketball eyes from the history of southern California basketball here to see just how good this guy is, they will not leave disappointed. This guy is unique, special and we are privileged to be here today.”

Even as a prospect, LeBron James showed superstar potential, and there have been few prospects that were as highly touted as James. The closest in the modern era would be Victor Wembanyama, who some believe can end up as the GOAT of basketball.

LeBron James Was Already A Leader In High School

One of the intangible traits that people often appreciate about LeBron James is his leadership, and that was on display even during his high school days. In fact, he was already calling out his teammates at 16 years old.

Coach: “If you can’t let it go, then let me know and I’m not gonna play you.”

Player 1: “I told you I don’t have an attitude.”

LeBron: “Why don’t you listen? Point guard? Leader?”

Coach: “The only team that’s gonna beat St. Vincent St. Mary’s gonna be us. And these kinda attitudes are gonna beat us.”

Sometimes, teams need to have honest moments like this to reach the next level, and LeBron James clearly understood that from an early age. He is now viewed as a great leader at the NBA level as well, and it is fair to say that he commands respect not only because of his play but also due to his attitude about the game.

As of right now, LeBron James is trying to help the Los Angeles Lakers get past the Golden State Warriors. His leadership will be crucial here, and we’ll see if he is able to turn back the clock and dominate the opposition.
