Jimmy Butler is the heart and soul of the current Miami Heat team. Butler led the Heat to a historic first-round win vs. the Milwaukee Bucks.

In Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals vs. the New York Knicks, Butler continued his phenomenal form. Although the Heat won the game, Butler struggled in the final five minutes of the game after rolling his ankle in the fourth quarter. Is the injury serious? Well, a source close to the Heat had a simple answer to the question.

“If he’s good,” a source told the New York Daily News, “This is going to be a short series.”

It’s a pretty simple way to find out if Butler is 100% healthy or not. However, the Heat would hope to find a much more concrete way to figure that out.

After all, the organization heavily rely on Butler’s heroics during the postseason. With Tyler Herro already injured, if Butler gets sidelined as well, the Heat will be practically knocked out of the playoffs in the second round of the playoffs.

Jimmy Butler Opened Up On The Seriousness Of His Ankle Injury

Despite struggling from injury in the dying minutes of Game 1 vs. the Knicks, Jimmy Butler finished the game with 25 points, 11 rebounds, and 4 assists.

After the game, his thoughts on his injury were asked by a courtside reporter. Butler bluntly explained that his rolled ankle feels like a “rolled ankle.”

Now, Jimmy’s answer can be interpreted in two ways. First, he is not in a lot of pain and should be available for Game 2 of the series in hopes of giving a 2-0 lead to the Heat. Second, Butler was hiding his pain, and it was a severe injury.

The reason behind the second conclusion could be coach Erik Spoelstra muttering “f**k” when he first saw Jimmy’s injury during the game. Jimmy is having a historic playoff campaign, and it would be sad to see it end due to an injury.
