The first round of the NBA 2023 playoffs has been an absolute humdinger so far and promises to get better in the days to come in the form of a LeBron James vs. Stephen Curry matchup.

The Golden State Warriors booked a Western Conference Semifinals date with the Los Angeles Lakers after pipping the Sacramento Kings 4-3 in Game 7. This had fans reacting to Curry and James squaring off in the second round.

One of the fans believed this would be the matchup that’s a must-watch for every NBA fan.

This was seconded by another who said this might be the last matchup between these two players.

It’s been a long time. This might be the last one and I will for sure not take it for granted. https://t.co/esgrsUQc0s

For one, this was indeed the NBA Finals.

This is really my NBA Finals https://t.co/sp6ZNqKa56

A fan reckoned that social media would be in smithereens.

Some believed a Game 7 would be on the cards.

Not gonna lie I need this to go to G7 https://t.co/lUvQ66bB4L

The regular season has seen the Lakers get the better of the Warriors 3-1, both sides have seen better days in recent times, making the James vs. Curry encounter a marquee clash for the ages.

While picking a winner between the two heavyweights is tough, chances are that Stephen Curry and the Warriors, with their relentless offense, will have an edge over the Lakers and James.

Skip Bayless Picks LeBron James To Win Over Stephen Curry Ahead Of The Lakers vs. Warriors Clash

In what comes as a massive twist, NBA analyst Skip Bayless picked James to win the second-round skirmish against Curry.

“Bring on Steph vs LeBron. I’m going with … LeBron,” he tweeted.

Bring on Steph vs LeBron. I'm going with … LeBron.

— Skip Bayless (@RealSkipBayless) April 30, 2023

While Bayless may have had his say, Curry has been the better player so far these playoffs when compared to James.

James averaged 22.2 points, 11.2 rebounds, and 5.2 assists, while Curry has pushed his level of play averaging 33.7 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 4.9 assists against Sacramento.

All said, the Lakers weren’t technically favorites to beat the Memphis Grizzlies either, but they did close them out in six games on the back of some scintillating performances. So discounting James and the Lakers wouldn’t be a wise move.
