Former Indiana Pacers star Reggie Miller believes Dillon Brooks had a solid and brilliant game plan against LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers.

“I think that was a brilliant move by Dillon Brooks,” Miller said on the Dan Patrick Show. “I really do. It was brilliant because what he was trying to do was blow up the whole Lakers’ game plan because he thought he could get LeBron to fall for the bait.

Miller further added: “He thought LeBron was going to fall for the bait trying to come out be aggressive and get away from the game plan, which is to force-feed Anthony Davis because the Lakers are only going to go as far as Anthony Davis will take him.”

Brooks vs. James is one of the major storylines in the ongoing first-round playoff series between the Memphis Grizzlies and the Lakers.

While the guard was in the seasoned veteran’s face, James was the one with the last laugh as he got the better of Brooks and the Grizzlies on more than one occasion.

However, Miller saw what Brooks was trying to do, and lauded him for his efforts to throw James off his game. It’s not worked so far, but surely, his efforts cannot be ignored.

LeBron James Didn’t Hold Back After Dillon Brooks’ Taunts

Not only did James prove his competitive prowess as a report to Brooks calling him old, but he also added some words in copious measure to know that he was better than the fiery Memphis star.

Prior to the start of Game 3, James was seen talking to Brooks, and a professional lip reader decoded what the veteran was telling him. “Just to let you know, you cause too many problems,” the Lakers star reportedly said. “Your crazy a** is doing nothing but fooling around. You know nothing. You ain’t ready for me. Make some shots. Do your job.”

Safe to say that the fireworks between these two players are far from over. With the Lakers taking a commanding 3-1 lead, the Grizzlies and Brooks will look to stop the LA juggernaut and hopefully the latter will let his game do the talking.
