Goran Dragic has perhaps known Luka Doncic the longest. The Milwaukee Bucks guard said as much when he sat down with fellow forward Thanasis Antetokounmpo for a riveting chat.

Speaking on Thanalysis, “When I was 15, I signed my first pro contract. My mentor was Sasha Doncic, father of Luka. I know Luka when he was a baby, a kid. He would be there, mopping the floors,” he said.

Last year, Dragic described the Dallas Mavericks star’s game perfectly. “He plays the game at his rhythm, he is very big, he can shoot, he can pass, he can rebound,” according to Basket News. “I don’t know what else we can say about Luka, he is like… an astronaut,” Dragic said of Doncic’s game.”

He also added lavish praise: “I think he could be [the best player in history]. He is still very young, but if he stays healthy and plays a long more time I think that by the end of his career, he could be the best ever.”

Dragic and Doncic have played together for Slovenia, and it doesn’t come as a surprise that he knows so much about the immensely-talented point guard.

Will Luka Doncic Play For The Dallas Mavericks In The Upcoming Season?

All eyes will be on Luka Doncic as soon as the NBA 2022-23 season comes to an end. The Mavericks were one of the teams expected to make the NBA Finals, especially after the arrival of Kyrie Irving, but they were one of the more disappointing sides this season, after failing to make the playoffs.

His future with the team might be in doubt, but Doncic has quashed all rumors of asking for a trade. “I saw the report,” he said during the team’s exit interview.

“I don’t know who, but somebody said that I was going to request a trade. It was funny because I didn’t know that was true. I didn’t say it. I’m happy here. There’s nothing to worry [about].”

Perhaps the Mavericks can manage to get Irving to re-sign with the team, and also add the right pieces alongside the duo to give them a fighting chance of winning the championship.
