After helping lead the Warriors to a title last season, Warriors swingman Andrew Wiggins had drawn a lot of attention for going M.I.A. over the past few weeks.
While we know that Wiggs is dealing with some sort of family matter, the details of his situation continue to be murky as the NBA playoffs approach. One theory even claims that Wiggins is out because of an issue with his girlfriend.
So with various rumors and theories spreading about his absence, it is only fitting that he be defended by Draymond Green, who took to his podcast to address the speculation.
“No matter if what y’all saying is true or not, it has no bearing on my life. Nor does it have any bearing on y’all’s life,” said Green. “Y’all are so thirsty to know what’s going on in someone’s life that that becomes the thing? Sometimes people disgust me. You don’t know what someone’s dealing with, and then you make them deal with that? What if that’s not what the person’s dealing with? Stop it, it’s disgusting.”

Nobody knows what’s really going on with Wiggins, but maybe it’s time to just let things play out and let Wiggins speak for himself.
But whatever happens with Andrew this season, the Warriors aren’t rushing him back at all.
Wiggins Is Dealing With A Serious Issue
Wiggins’ absence from the team is not without a valid reason, and we know that he has the Warriors’ blessing to deal with things for as long as he needs.
“Everyone outside wants to know what’s going on with Wiggins. Such a long absence without reason is rare. Every game missed intensifies curiosity. But it doesn’t increase our entitlement,” wrote Marcus Thompson. “His teammates, his coaches and his bosses understand what is happening and are honoring his wishes. For those outside the locker room, that has to be enough. ‘If we’re fine with it,” one player said, ‘and the people who pay him understand, then so should everyone else.’”
Only Wiggins knows when he’ll be ready to rejoin the team, but nobody has dismissed the possibility that he will return this season and that’s good because they need all the help they can get right now.
At 6th in the West, Golden State needs Wiggins to play like their second-best player again if they want any chance of repeating as champions.
Hopefully, he’ll be back before it’s too late.
