There was quite an awkward moment for Dillon Brooks after the end of the game between the Dallas Mavericks and the Memphis Grizzlies.

As he attempted to swap jerseys with Kyrie Irving, the Mavs superstar handed him his jersey, but refused to take Brooks’ and walked away.

NBA fans on Reddit found it hilarious as they reacted to the viral moment.

“Kyrie: Wait, this is worthless.” a fan hilariously stated what Kyrie thought when Brooks offered his jersey.

“The ultimate disrespect right there lol. Treating dude like a fan.” a fan felt that Kyrie refusing to take the jersey was the ultimate disrespect.

“Dillon Brooks is really delusional if he thought Kyrie would take or want his jersey. I mean what is he smoking!” a fan thinks Brooks was delusion for thinking Irving would take his jersey.

“All of Kyrie’s past sins are now absolved.” jokingly stated a fan who will now look past all of Irving’s controversial comments.

“Lmao nobody likes Brooks.” this fan thinks no one in the NBA really likes Brooks because of all of his antics on the court.

It certainly was an interesting decision on Brooks’ part to try to swap jerseys with Kyrie. There was quite a bit of trash talk going on between them during the game and Brooks had also stepped on Kyrie’s foot, which led to the Mavs star having to wear a walking boot as a precaution after the game.

That incident also probably caused Irving to play poorly the rest of the way after a hot start. Kyrie had 20 points by halftime here but proceeded to go scoreless in the fourth quarter, failing to hit any of his eight shots. With Kyrie struggling, the Mavs blew a 16-point lead and went on to lose 112-108.

Kyrie Irving Talked About Why He Didn’t Take Dillon Brooks’ Jersey

Irving was asked during his postgame interview about not taking Brooks’ jersey and he implied it wasn’t intentional. Kyrie said he saw what he had done afterward and stated he would probably swap jerseys with Brooks the next time they play. He said he was way too focused on the next thing, thought process-wise, and didn’t notice Brooks trying to hand his jersey to him.

You have to take his word here for it, but no one would really blame Kyrie if he meant it. Considering what had happened in this game and the fact that Brooks had taunted him in the past, it would be quite understandable if he didn’t want to do it. Irving now shifts his focus to the Golden State Warriors in what is a very important game for the Mavs. They have now fallen to 36-36 after this defeat and are at real risk of falling out of the play-in spots if they fail to win their next couple of games.
