Bomani Jones Mocks Ja Morant Because He Learnt Breathing Exercises And Got Everything Under Control In A Week

"None of this appears to make sense to me," Bomani opined when talking about Ja Morant's comeback.

Ja Morant’s imminent return to basketball this season after his slew of controversies was mocked by NBA analyst Bomani Jones.

Speaking to Vince Goodwill on Good Word with Goodwill, the ESPN analyst called out the Memphis Grizzlies’ guard for his rushed return. “Look man, that dude said he went and learned some breathing exercises, and he got this all under control. What? That was my thing as I was sitting there listening. I was like, ‘You got this all figured out in a week? Teach me your ways.'”

He further questioned Morant and the team’s decision not to stay in any city after their road games. “Like, whenever people talk about their problems in the terms that they were using to talk about his problems… so basically, all you needed was a week off of work? That was it?”

“None of this appears to make sense to me,” Bomani continued. But there was no doubt that he wasn’t ready to accept that Morant was set and ready to go after his counseling program. “If he’s good, I hope that he’s good. It just doesn’t seem like this is something that you can fix in the way that they described fixing it for him.”

The Grizzlies superstar was suspended for eight games, and while he is set to miss the upcoming clash against the Dallas Mavericks, he was expected to play against the Houston Rockets on Wednesday at home.

Will Ja Morant’s Return Be A Bane Or A Boon For The Memphis Grizzlies?

The answer to the above question is a bit of both. While Morant’s return bolsters the team that’s already looked at as a potential title contender, there is that double-edged sword of how it all pans out once he rejoins the squad.

For starters, the team chemistry may take a hit, and that would mean the reintegration process gone fully wrong —  a mistake Memphis cannot afford to make. Or it could be like Morant never left, and the teammates embraced him with open arms.

The positive for Memphis is their current 47-23 record that automatically puts them in the playoffs. With 12 games left in the regular season, the team can perhaps use it to rekindle their chemistry with the guard and gear up for a deeper run in the playoffs.
