The Golden State Warriors and the LA Clippers are facing off right now in a crucial game, as they’re currently the 5th and the 6th seed in the West, respectively.

The Warriors have already devised a playbook for the new Clippers’ point guard, Russell Westbrook. Draymond Green showed their strategy after packing the paint to leave Russ wide open at the 3-point line in a play that fans are calling disrespectful.

The disrespect was real, according to this one fan, “Most disrespectful thing I’ve seen this week.”

Another fan couldn’t believe what he saw, “This is wild, dog.”

Another fan shared a picture to mock Russ, “Draymond was like…”

One fan was saying Russ should’ve driven inside on that play, “You gotta drive on that.”

Draymond was packed in the paint, so a fan called for a 3-second violation for his actions, “3-second violation.”

An old Westbrook quote was brought up by another fan to add to the mockery.

Someone shared the infamous photo of LeBron James not guarding Russ at the three during the 2020 bubble.

If Russ can’t shoot, that is exactly how teams should guard him. It’s not like Westbrook saw the space and decided to take a shot or even step in for an elbow jumper. Russ knows he will struggle shooting the ball, and so does Draymond Green.

Russ has been shooting above 50% from the field and above 40% from three so far as a Clipper, but it clearly hasn’t boosted his confidence enough to take shots like that when being disrespected by the opposing defender.

Will Russell Westbrook Work Out For The Clippers?

If the Clippers fail to beat the Warriors tonight, it’ll be their fourth consecutive loss since including Russ in the starting lineup. That is just incontrovertible proof that the makeup of the team has been hurt by the addition of the point guard.

The Clippers’ spacing has been negatively affected, but his playmaking and pace have benefited the squad.

Paul George pushed to get Westbrook on this team and needs to hope that it works out. It seems Tyronn Lue is still figuring out what he wants from his rotations. Westbrook is averaging 16.0 points, 9.3 assists, and 5.7 rebounds since he’s become a Clipper, so his numbers still indicate he could be a valuable contributor on this tea with championship hopes.
