Following the end of a tumultuous tenure with the Lakers, former NBA MVP Russell Westbrook may have already found a new basketball home.
As a Clipper, nobody knows what to expect from Russ anymore, who has had plenty of ups and downs throughout his career. But from a glance, there seems to be something different about this stop than his previous stints.
On Thursday, Russ even went viral on Twitter after the latest practice photo showed smiles from Russ and his former teammate, Paul George.

Westbrook’s basketball fit is still to be determined. But, for now, his fit in the locker room as a teammate and friend to the guys is adding nothing but positive vibes for the Clippers and fans are absolutely loving it.

The chemistry between these two is going to be like something we've never seen before in Clipper history before since Lob City
A real life friendship and two people who fit perfectly together as pieces
And now we add in Kawhi?
Watch out. We have just begun. https://t.co/DHmxj1uBuJ

Russell Westbrook Can Thrive With PG And Kawhi
Russ several damaged his value and reputation with the Purple and Gold, but there’s reason to hope for a better ending with the Clippers. For one, this team is built in a way that maximizes Westbrook’s strengths as a finisher and playmaker.
With plenty of shooters and a deep supporting cast off the bench, Russ will always have somebody to find, and the pressure for him to make shots on the perimeter will be severely weakened alongside wings who can stretch the floor.
Most importantly, however, Russ has the support of Paul George, who he has already played with and found success with in the past. Can PG and Russ do the same this year and bring out the best in each other once again?
“Westbrook takes some ballhandling responsibility off of George and Leonard,” said one NBA analyst on the Westbrook signing. “Westbrook can get to the free throw line at a high rate, is still a good playmaker, and can push the pace. And if it means that George and Leonard have more juice to be efficient later in games, then the Clippers will take that.”
There’s no doubt that welcoming Russ this late into the season is a major risk for the Clippers, but it’s one that could pay off if everything falls into place.
Ultimately, only time will tell how this season plays out for Westbrook, but it must be nice for him to finally play for a team that actually wants him around.
