Giannis Antetokounmpo knew he was about to have a very busy weekend, which would end with him being the captain of his own team in the All-Star Game. However, the Greek Freak had other commitments first, as he’s not only set to lead his squad tomorrow but also had the chance to coach a bunch of celebrities in the first event of the weekend.

Antetokounmpo and his brothers Thanasis and Alex coached Dwyane Wade’s team to an 81-78 win after the 2021 NBA champion paid his respect to Wade. It was a very intense game that almost went to overtime but a final 3-pointer from the logo didn’t count, giving the W to Giannis, his brothers, and Wade.

Following the game, the Milwaukee Bucks superstar talked about his experience coaching a team for the first, and Giannis was very excited. The 2x NBA MVP feels he can be good at this and didn’t hesitate to say he plans to be a head coach once his playing career is over.

Following the big and hard-fought win, Antetokounmpo explained his feelings about becoming a head coach eventually, but shared his passion for the game, especially during this match.

“I was in it – I wanted to win,” he told the Journal Sentinel. “Afterward, when I retire, I want to be a head coach. A lot of people don’t know that about me, but I want to be a head coach. I really want to be. It’s kind of hard, because you have no control. And, I know the game of basketball, I know how to play the game of basketball, so it’s hard.”

He really enjoyed the game to the fullest, even calling out Richard Jefferson while taking a shot at one NBA referee. Antetokounmpo admitted that he was happy with the result, but the job was hard to complete.

“Felt great, felt great – I got my first win as a head coach,” Giannis said. “But, my job was tough. If they would only listen to me a little bit, we would have won by 20.”

Giannis’ players put in an effort, but not as much as the Milwaukee Bucks superstar wanted. Still, it was a great thing for him to spend time with these people, who delivered a very entertaining game that was entertaining until the very last second.
