The Los Angeles Lakers are picking up the pieces of their difficult season now and will hope to have a run of amazing wins to help themselves get back into the playoff race.

Their win against the New Orleans Pelicans tonight showed that the team has the capability of looking like one of the best teams in the league. LeBron James was playing on a minutes restriction after returning from a foot injury and managed to make history with his 21-point performance.

The man that became the NBA’s all-time leading scorer last week is now 9th all-time on the list of most games played. He climbed over former rival Jason Terry with tonight being his 1,411th appearance in a regular-season NBA game.

James is likely to cross Kevin Willis in 8th place as well, trailing him by only 13 games. With the Lakers having 25 games left in the season, it’s fair to assume LBJ will play at least 13 more and end this season as the player with the 8th most games played in the NBA.

LeBron James Doesn’t Want To Rack Up Regular Season Accomplishments

No matter how impressive his regular-season accomplishments are, LeBron has an eye on extending the records he already holds in the postseason. He is the leading scorer in NBA playoff history by a hefty margin and would want to add to that total this season if the Lakers can make it in.

Darvin Ham has stressed that the team can’t afford to lose games anymore to make their playoff push a reality. LeBron James is also the all-time leader in playoff games played, so to further add to those records he already owns and make them out of reach for future stars would be the best way of operating for LBJ.
