Kyrie Irving’s career in the NBA has been nothing short of a movie. The former first overall draft pick has been in the league for 12 years now, and during this time, Kyrie has made a reputation for being one of the most skilled basketball players in the league.

But at the same time, Irving has also developed a reputation for being a player who can not be trusted. The most recent example of it was when Kyrie demanded a trade from the Nets out of the blue.

Despite all the red flags that Kyrie Irving so blatantly shows, he has been pretty lucky when it comes to playing together with great players. Be it LeBron James, Kevin Durant, or James Harden, Kyrie has shared the court with a plethora of current and future great stars.

Does Kyrie Irving Have The GOAT Teammates Team?

After playing the last few seasons of his career with the Brooklyn Nets, Kyrie Irving will now don the jersey of the Dallas Mavericks. That means he will become the backcourt partner of none other than Luka Doncic.

Keeping that in mind, an NBA fan on Reddit recently wondered whether Irving has had the greatest list of teammates in the history of the NBA. Here’s what the rest of the NBA community thinks of it.

nowhathappenedwas: Dennis Rodman played with Jordan, Pippen, Shaq, Kobe, Dirk, Nash, Dumars, Dantley, Isiah, Moses Malone, and David Robinson.

noknownothing: Two others: Robert Horry played with Olajuwon, Drexler, Kevin Johnson, Kidd, Nash, Danny Manning, Kobe, Shaq, Glenn Rice, Rodman, Duncan, Ginobli, Parker, and dunk contest champ Kenny Smith. 7 rings.

AC Green played with Kareem, Magic, Worthy, Cooper, Barkley, Kevin Johnson, Dan Majerle, Danny Manning, Kidd, Nash, Dirk, Kobe, Shaq, Glen Rice, Alonzo Mourning.

EGarrett: Horace Grant:

C Shaq
PF Karl Malone
SF Scottie Pippen
SG Michael Jordan
PG Penny Hardaway

C Patrick Ewing
SF Grant Hill
SF Tracy McGrady
SG Kobe Bryant
PG Gary Payton

Mdgt_Pope: Shaq had like a 40-year span of teammates appearing in the finals.

thepeachgod: Surprised no one has said Rondo yet. Starting lineup of Lebron D-Wade, Kawhi, Garnett and Shaq with AD, Dirk, Pierce, Allen, Paul George, Dwight Howard, Boogie, Jimmy Butler and Trae Young off the bench. Obviously a lot weren’t in their prime but in terms of pedigree it’s hard to beat this.

moonshadow50: Robert Parish played with Rick Barry, Tiny Archibald, Larry Bird, Bill Walton, Kevin McHale, Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen.

AC Green played with Kareem, Magic, Worthy, Barkley, Shaq and Kobe.

Robert Horry played with Hakeem, Drexler, Shaq, Kobe and Duncan.

Steve Kerr played with Shaq, Jordan, Pippen Robinson and Duncan.

Rodman had Thomas, Robinson, Jordan, Pippen, Shaq, Kobe, Dirk and Nash.

And those are just off the top of my head. Im sure there is a list of someone with the most top 10/50/75/HoF teammates.

william4534: What about Danny Green? Duncan, Parker, Manu, T Mac (washed but still), Kawhi, LeBron, AD, Siakam, Lowry, Gasol, Embiid, Morant, and of course the GOAT 2019 NBA Champion Jeremy Lin.

BooteIs: Mans snuck in Gordon Hayward like we aint notice.

FERFreak731: Landry Shamet

Joel Embiid, Ben Simmons, Jimmy Butler, Paul George, Kawhi Leonard, James Harden, Kyrie Irving, Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, Chris Paul, and DeAndre Ayton

If we are talking about current players.

RaptorRespecter: Not of all time, but people should keep in mind that he basically hasn’t been on a team where he’s the focus of the Defence most games since his rookie contract.

Imagine how much better Dame would look if he rarely saw doubles when his team was healthy.

While fans admitted that Irving has an impressive teammates list, many pointed out that the likes of Shaquille O’Neal, Robert Horry, and Rajon Rondo have a much better GOAT teammates list. Well, it is certainly an interesting debate, but as of now, Kyrie is certainly not winning it.
