As is the case with most young players, Jordan Poole tends to have moments in games where he doesn’t make the right play. He can be a bit reckless with the ball, and the Golden State Warriors have been trying to set Poole straight for a while now.

We have had head coach Steve Kerr get on him numerous times this season, with the recent one being when Poole committed an offensive foul and then a delay of game violation. Kerr was furious and stated that they needed to make Poole understand that every possession counts.

Poole then got on the nerves of Stephen Curry on Wednesday night when he shot the ball late in their game against the Memphis Grizzlies instead of passing it to Curry. It led to Steph throwing his mouthpiece in frustration, and he was promptly ejected from the game for it.

Poole made amends for his mistake by scoring the game-winner, and when he met Curry in the tunnel after the game, he hilariously threw his mouthpiece to mock Steph.

Curry saw the funny side to it, and the two hugged it out. Poole will continue to have moments that cause the Warriors headaches, and it is just a part of his maturation process. Fortunately for them, he has enough brilliant moments on the court to make up for it.

Stephen Curry Explained Why He Threw His Mouthpiece

It was just the third ejection of his career for Steph, and funnily enough, all 3 have been mouthpiece-related. He was asked about the sequence that led to him throwing his mouthpiece, but he didn’t throw Poole under the bus.

Curry stated that his emotions got the better of him as he badly wanted to win the game. He praised his teammates for responding extremely well and winning the game in his absence. Steph will need to keep his emotions in check moving forward as the Warriors look to find that winning formula that has eluded them so far this season.
