LeBron James’ 3-Point Shooting Is The Worst Of His Career, Even Russell Westbrook Has Been Better

James' 28.5% also ties him dead last in the league this season, and it further comes down to 17% in the clutch.

LeBron James might be the Los Angeles Lakers messiah scoring heavily for the side in the absence of Anthony Davis, but the veteran is in the middle of the worst three-point shooting of his career with 28.5% from beyond the arc.

James has been instrumental for the Lakers racking up a series of 30+ point performances in his last 10 games, which also included two dominant 40+ point outings.

The Lakers were reliant on the 38-year-old to deliver and he did helping the Lakers prop up five wins in a row, before losing their last two games — one of which saw him sit out. And while the team is greatly benefitting from his scoring, his three-point percentage has taken a hit and the proof was his 0-for-7 from downtown in LA’s double OT loss against the Dallas Mavericks.

The forward came into the contest shooting 29.5% from three-point land this season but after failing to shoot a single 3, the percentage dipped to 28.5%. His last worst three-point shooting season was in his rookie year when he shot 29% for the Cleveland Cavaliers.

LeBron James is shooting 8.7% from three since the New Year began. Yikes.

James’ 28.5% also ties him dead last in the league this season, and it further comes down to 17% in the clutch. Per NBA analyst Jon Asaad, he missed all of his clutch 3s against Dallas, and Russell Westbrook is shooting better than him from downtown.

LeBron is tied for dead last in 3PT percentage at 28.5%, worse than Westbrook.

That number drops to 17% in the clutch.

LeBron is tied for dead last in 3PT percentage at 28.5%, worse than Westbrook. That number drops to 17% in the clutch. He missed all 4 of his threes in crunch time last night.

It appears the King will be keen to rectify that error and perhaps devote some time shooting from the three-point range to maximize his team’s chances of winning when the team gets their break between games.

LeBron James Has Been The Driving Force For The Los Angeles Lakers

Despite his struggles from beyond the arc, James is still one of the stars shouldering the team’s load. At the time of writing, he averages 29.0 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 6.8 assists to lead the scoring chart for the Lakers.

The Purple and Gold aren’t having the kind of season they expected. After starting 0-5, Anthony Davis restored some parity to the unit with his scintillating performances. However, a stress fracture has him sidelined leaving James to do the heavy lifting.

And at 38, he’s dishing out everything humanely possible, but the Lakers need more from their roster. On the achievement front, he is all set to surpass Kareem Abdul-Jabbar as the leading scorer in the NBA if he stays healthy. That’s not all. By the end of this season, James could Be No. 1 All-Time In Points, No. 4 All-Time In Assists, And No. 8 All-Time In Steals

But all that would pale in the background considering he’s more focused on winning a title than the individual achievements
