Patrick Beverley is undoubtedly one of the best players to mimic Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo.

The Los Angeles Lakers star had fans in splits when he imitated the ‘Greek Freak’ on the latest episode of The Pat Bev Podcast with Rone. And while at it, he also added the story of how the forward tried to recruit him.

Beverley recalled the time when the Minnesota Timberwolves were hosting the Bucks, and the guard was eager to take on Antetokounmpo, only for him to not be suiting up for the game.

“I’m furious now. Why the f*** he ain’t playing,” Beverley explained.

“Go out to do my normal shoot-around before the game and see his brother. I’m like, ‘What’s up? Your brother ducking smoke?'”

At this point, Antetokounmpo walked out of the locker room only to be confronted by Beverley.

“Never duck smoke, Pat. Never, never duck smoke,” Giannis reportedly said.

Beverley: “I said why the f*** you ain’t playing, Greek?”

“I was in the back eating pasta,” Giannis allegedly said. “But never duck smoke, Pat. Never, never. I like you, Pat. You want to win championship? I like you. You come to Milwaukee, Pat. I like you.”

It was a good tale to listen to, and perhaps Beverley’s dogged defense would be crucial for the Bucks, but for now, he’s a Laker, and a pretty good mimic.

Patrick Beverley Is Looking To Return To The Timberwolves If He Is Traded By The Lakers

Patrick Beverley is one of the players reportedly on the Lakers’ trade market alongside Kendrick Nunn and Russell Westbrook.

Beverley is averaging 5.8 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 2.6 assists at the time of writing, and with the Lakers looking to upgrade their roster, his $15 million contract makes him the perfect player to be shipped. Per Jake Fischer, he wished to return to Minnesota.

“Should Beverley ultimately get moved to a rebuilding situation like the [Detroit] Pistons, the grizzled guard has a desire to return to Minnesota, sources said, should he reach free agency via buyout,” (h/t Yahoo Sports)

Only time will tell where Beverley heads if the Lakers indeed look to deal him before the trade deadline. It won’t be surprising if Antetokounmpo perhaps puts in a word and manages to bag the veteran.
