Former NBA forward Jared Jeffries was an NBA journeyman for a long time and ended up having a relatively successful 10-year career in the league. He was drafted by the Washington Wizards and played 4 seasons with them before moving to the New York Knicks, where he played for 4 more seasons. He also played for the Houston Rockets and retired in 2013 as a member of the Portland Trail Blazers.
Jeffries has had roles within the NBA as well as outside the NBA, but was recently spotted on an episode of the iconic TV show ‘The Price Is Right’. On the show, Jeffries ended up winning a brand new Toyota Corolla as well as some designer watches in a moment that 2000s NBA fans saw and definitely were left confused.

Jeffries will have a tough time fitting into his new car with his 6’11” self, but a free car is a free car. The former Knick also has experience in the front office, serving as the Director for Player Personnel with the Denver Nuggets, which means he worked with the likes of Nikola Jokic in that capacity.
Retired NBA Players And The Variety Of Professions They Pursue
NBA players are a lot smarter about what they will do upon retirement nowadays, as people that retire from their primary job in their 30s need to have a regular source of income even after making millions in the NBA.
The most common profession for former players has become being a TV analyst, something we’ve seen Kendrick Perkins, Vince Carter, JJ Redick, Shaquille O’Neal, Charles Barkley, and many many more do.
Many focus on getting into Hollywood, another thing Shaq did, but he is joined by the likes of John Salley in that quest too. Steve Kerr is the best example of a player that went into media as a commentator but then become a front office executive with the Phoenix Suns before becoming a coach. Coaching is something many players try their hands at, like Jason Kidd, Steve Nash, Doc Rivers, and many more.
There is no shortage of opportunities for NBA players after retirement. Jeffries himself has shown that, working in the front office as well as on television for many years now.
