In each sport, there is no end to debates about who is truly the greatest player of all time. Be it basketball, tennis, or soccer, in each sport, there are usually two players who stand above all in terms of being considered the GOATs of the said sport.
For basketball, when we have this debate, it’s usually Michael Jordan and LeBron James. There is a genuine case for being considered the GOAT for either of them, but most tend to lean towards Jordan due to his accolades and spotless performances in the NBA Finals.
If you watch soccer and don’t live under a rock, then the GOAT debate of soccer usually comes down to Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. For years, the two legends have faced off against each other and made amazing cases for themselves. But following Lionel Messi and Argentina’s recent FIFA World Cup triumph, he has undoubtedly taken a comfortable lead over Ronaldo now.
Joe Rogan Apparently Isn’t Aware Of Lionel Messi vs. Cristiano Ronaldo’s Rivalry’s Magnitude
Joe Rogan’s podcast, ‘The Joe Rogan Experience,’ has seen a plethora of faces sit across from him and talk about various things. Rogan recently invited scientist and fellow podcaster Lex Friedman to talk about a wide spectrum of things.
During the episode, Rogan and Friedman began talking about the rivalry between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. Rogan apparently wanted to know if it is similar to LeBron James vs. Michael Jordan debate. Friedman gave a pretty good answer to the question.

Rogan: What is it like? Who’s better LeBron or Michael Jordan, is it like that kind of thing?
Friedman: Messi is better by far…it has to do with movement, so it has to do with where you put priorities. Cristiano is much better looking, he’s much harder working, he’s an incredible soccer player…Messi moves like nothing I’ve ever seen. There’s moments on genius unlike anybody else…The question is how much do you value moments of genius in terms of movement…like just like how many things you’re able to create where they’re like, what the f**k did I just watch?
When it comes to basketball’s GOAT debate between MJ and James, there are many split views among fans and former players. But in terms of Messi vs. Ronaldo, the former has certainly surpassed the latter in almost every category, and the debate has now definitely been put to bed.
