Steve Kerr has had to deal with of things since he became the Golden State Warriors head coach ahead of the 2014/15 NBA season. As soon as he landed in the Bay area, the former player saw success, but not everything was happy for him.

Kerr has had ups and downs on the Dubs, including the two seasons where they missed the playoffs after losing Kevin Durant to a season-ending injury and the Brooklyn Nets, as well as Klay Thompson. Those were tough times for the Dubs and their coach, with fans always knocking on him.

Back in 2020, when the Dubs recorded the worst record in the league, Kerr made the decision to leave Twitter to have a happier life, as he didn’t like seeing how a lot of people told him to do his job. The former Chicago Bulls player is really smart, and that decision was proof of that.

Steve Kerr Feels Better After Leaving Twitter

It’s been two years since he made that decision, and Kerr and he now reveals that things haven’t gone as happily and smoothly for him since he left toxic Twitter.

“So a guy like James, I had a conversation and we both agreed it might be a good idea and it turned out to be great for both of us. I feel way healthier, it’s really refreshing not knowing that people are crushing every decision I make. Ignorance is bliss, in some ways. But there are also a lot of really great stories that come from social media. [Steph Curry] is a master of handling social media. He does so much good on his platforms, so one size doesn’t fit all.”

Kerr explained that it was a mutual agreement between him and James Wiseman that finally pushed him to get off Twitter.

“A couple years ago, I went to James Wiseman and I asked him how he was doing with the social media stuff and he goes, ‘Yeah, it’s a little tough,’ Kerr shared. “I said, why don’t we both quit Twitter for a while,’ and he said, ‘yeah, that’s a good idea.’ I literally haven’t been back. It’s been two years, I think, for me. I asked him recently and he said, ‘Yeah, I’m not on either.'”

If things were hard two years ago, now it would have been a nightmare. The Warriors aren’t playing well this season, struggling to keep at the .500 mark and surpass it. Some people have criticized them for their poor performances recently, especially after Stephen Curry went down with an injury.

The Dubs won the 2022 NBA championship, but as things stand right now, they could be even out of the play-in tournament if their current situation doesn’t improve
