Atlanta Hawks announcer Bob Rathbun relived the traumatic experience of his on-air medical emergency.
A couple of weeks ago, Rathbun was seen convulsing and lost consciousness while talking to analyst Dominique Wilkins when they were previewing the team’s home game against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
It was a rather interesting conversation between the two analysts until Rathbun leaned back and looked like he had a seizure. Soon after, it was reported that he was treated for dehydration and was stable and responsive.

The clip of Rathbun had fans praying for his recovery and the analyst explained the horrifying experience once he was stable and sufficiently recovered.
Bob Rathbun Says He Never Wants To Watch The Video Of Him Passing Out
Some experiences are best left forgotten and that was exactly on Rathbun’s mind when he revealed the details of his treatment.
According to The Athletic, the announcer had felt sick prior to the chat with Wilkins and had planned to head home soon after.
“I was thinking: ‘I know I’m going to be sick again. But let me just get through this, then I’ll go vomit, and I’ll do the game, and then I’ll go home and go to bed,’” he said. “So I got in the chair and made some innocuous comment about AJ Griffin, and the next thing I remember was an EMT guy was standing in front of me.”
The outlet’s description summed up how horrifying it was for Rathbun:
“The last thing Bob Rathbun remembers is sitting in a chair and thinking, “Just let me get through this.” His stomach had been doing flips for two hours. He already had made one unscheduled visit to the restroom, and he felt that something bad was coming around the corner again.
Rathbun, 68, has been the announcer for the franchise since 1996, but this was the first time he went through a forgettable experience. In the aftermath of the incident, he added he would never watch the video.
