The NBA has one of the most commonly contested GOAT debates of perhaps any major sports league. Most fans claim and recognize Michael Jordan as the greatest player of all time, but the support for LeBron James’ case continues to grow. The debate is now often between those two superstars, which is perhaps excluding some other deserving candidates.
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar won 6 championships during his career, as well as 6 MVPs, he has the resume to have a solid case as the GOAT. And although LeBron James is due to pass him on the all-time scoring list soon, Kareem held that record for a long time as well. Michael Jordan and LeBron James may be the only ones getting mentioned the most, but some think that is disrespectful to Abdul-Jabbar.
Rick Kamla Backs Kareem Abdul-Jabbar As A GOAT Candidate, Says He Is Very Disrespected
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar has been quite outspoken throughout his life on very delicate matters, and that has perhaps cost him a little. On the court, he dominated his era as any other player ever has, and he has enough accolades for him to feature more regularly in the GOAT debate. And speaking on SiriusXM Radio, Rick Kamla made a case for the Lakers legend.
Who is the most disrespected all-time great in NBA History?

“Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, to me, is the most disrespected all-time great. His name is left out of a lot, most, whatever you wanna say, conversations about all-time greats. When you’re talking about all-time greats, the tippy-top of this league, Kareem should be one of the first three names that come out of your mouth. But that’s not the case.
“People always start with Jordan or LeBron, LeBron and Jordan, Jordan and LeBron, LeBron and Jordan, and they leave out Kareem. … Oh man the GOAT debate is Jordan and LeBron. No, it’s not. The GOAT debate is Kareem, Jordan and LeBron. It’s a three-guy race.”
The NBA, along with the rest of the world of sports, moves on pretty fast. The accomplishments of past greats get forgotten more and more as time passes, and perhaps Kareem is also a victim of that. There are plenty of legends who deserve a mention anytime the conversation about who the GOAT is gets brought up, but Abdul-Jabbar has to be one of the first people mentioned in that context.
