LeBron James has played 10 NBA Finals in his amazing career in the league. Out of those 10 appearances, the King has managed to lift the glorious Larry O’Brien trophy four times. In all of his NBA Finals trips, James has played an elite level of basketball, apart from one.
Yes, we are talking about James’ infamous 2011 NBA Finals. This was James’ first year with the newly formed Big of the Miami Heat, featuring himself, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh.
At the time, the entire NBA community more or less hated James for leaving the Cleveland Cavaliers and joining forces with two other superstars. After that decision, James became the villain for the entire league, and everyone wanted to see him fail.
Well, the wish came true when the King and the Heat collapsed in the 2011 NBA Finals by getting defeated at the hands of Dirk Nowitzki and the Dallas Mavericks. James was simply underwhelming in that series, and to this date, he is aware of that failure.
LeBron James Silenced His Haters After Losing The 2011 NBA Finals
After the 2011 NBA Finals were over, James was bombarded with questions about his thoughts on a lot of people being happy to see him fail. James gave an epic response to the question.
“Absolutely not. At the end of the day, all the people that was rooting on me to fail, they got to wake up tomorrow and have the same life that they had before they woke up today. They got the same personal they had today and I’m gonna continue to live the way I want to live and continue to do the things that I wanna do. Me and my family and be happy with that so you know they can get a few days or a few months or whatever the case may be on being happy about not only myself but the Miami Heat not accomplishing that goal, but you know, they got to get back to the real world at some point.”
Following James’ failure in the 2011 NBA Finals, he made a stunning comeback by winning back-to-back NBA titles with the Miami Heat.
After his four-year stint with the Heat, James decided to give it another try with the Cavs and ended up winning the third NBA title of his career. As of now, LeBron is playing for the Los Angeles Lakers, and he has helped the Purple and Gold win a ring as well.
As for James’ legendary response to not getting bothered by people hating him, it was recently posted by Devin Booker on his Instagram story, but he was roasted by fans for it. Fans pointed out that losing in the preseason and the NBA Finals is not the same by any means, and they are absolutely right.
