Since the 2022 NBA Finals, fans have been patiently waiting to see their favorite players back in action. There may be a few weeks before the start of the regular season, but the NBA preseason is now underway. It has allowed fans to once again enjoy seeing their favorite players play basketball.
This time around, the league has decided to organize some of the games in Japan to cater to its fanbase there. And which team is better than the 2022 NBA champions, the Golden State Warriors, to play in Japan?
Well, the reigning champions faced off against the Washington Wizards in a great matchup. As expected, the Warriors ended up winning the game without much fuss. After the final buzzer, the score was 104-95 in favor of Stephen Curry and co.
Japanese Fans Are Incredibly Disciplined
Having amazing fans is what makes the NBA one of the most enjoyable sports leagues in the world. When games are played in the United States, heckling is seen as pretty normal. Fans try to distract the focus of their opponents during timeouts or when a player tries to shoot a free throw.
However, in the Warriors vs. Wizards game, Japanese fans displayed how polite they were as they went extremely quiet whenever any player came to the free throw line.

“I will never forget the experience of watching these games in Japan and how it gets *so quiet* during free throws.”
Although the fans were quite vocal throughout the game to show their support, they understood the importance of keeping their calm during the important moments of the game.
As for the Warriors, they are off to a 2-0 start in the NBA preseason and are looking in great form before the 2022-23 NBA season begins. If they can maintain this form, it seems possible that the Dubs will be able to defend their title.
