LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers are gearing up for the new season. After an underwhelming last season, the world’s eyes are on how well the Lakers can play this season. Their success honestly relies on how well LeBron James can play in the 20th season of his amazing NBA career.

Ahead of the new season, James recently reflected on his journey in the NBA over the years on NBA media day. James was happy with his journey in the league and the impact that he has been able to make.

At the same time, he was also joyous about the fact that he is still in the league. He is all set to play the 20th season of his career, so obviously, questions were asked about his health and fitness.

LeBron James Feels Fully Healthy

Being a 37-year-old heading into the new season, keeping his fitness up to the mark is undoubtedly the biggest task for the King. He has always been one of the healthiest players in the league, but he explained that he had to make a few changes in his diet to maintain that health before the new season.

(Starts at 4:00)

I’m fully healthy. I’ve reshaped a lot of things in my diet this summer to just get even better with my body. I always think about the marathon and today is day 1 of the marathon. I’ve been prepping my body throughout this time off. Every single month, ramping up, ramping up to get ready for this moment. People say the sky is the limit but for me, I’m trying to go beyond that.

I don’t know what that sky look like. I know I can play for as long as my mind is sharp. If your mind starts to waver or you don’t feel like you have it anymore mentally, then the body gonna listen to that.”

It’s great to hear that James feels healthy and 100% ready to begin the new season. Of course, his number one goal is to help the Lakers win the NBA Championship, but there’s another milestone that he could break next season.

Yes, we are talking about James being on the verge of breaking Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s all-time scoring record. If he can stay healthy throughout the season, there’s no one stopping him from breaking that record and adding another gem to his already bejeweled crown.
