Dwyane Wade Once Roasted LeBron James For Being Named GQ’s Most Stylish Athlete In 2013 Over Him: “Congratulations To Him… Or Whoever He Paid To Get That.”

LeBron James and Dwyane Wade enjoyed some very successful years as teammates when the King was with the Miami Heat. The team was in the NBA Finals for 4 straight seasons, winning 2 championships, although they did lose twice as well. But during that time, Wade and James became fast friends, and they remain to this day. They are even releasing the Redeem Team documentary, something they produced together.

On the court, the duo was unstoppable. Who can forget the iconic picture of Wade and Bron after an epic alley-oop between the two? Both excelled at scoring and passing and their connection with one another made them very hard to slow down. And while they got along just fine off the court as well, something that happened in 2013 did lead to Wade jokingly roasting LeBron a little.

Fashion is a huge aspect of being an NBA superstar, at least it has become so in the last 15 years. The outfits have gotten wild, and players care a lot more about how they dress and are perceived than was the case in the past. And Dwyane Wade was one of the people who took care to be fashionable, which explains why he was ticked off by GQ in 2013.

Dwyane Wade Took A Shot At LeBron James After The King Was Ranked As More Stylish Than Him

Wade was the second star on the Heat after LeBron James joined, but he wasn’t used to being behind the King in other aspects. So when a GQ list of the most stylish athletes ranked Wade 9th while ranking LeBron first, you can bet that he had something to say about it (via Bleacher Report).

“He’s No. 1 in a lot of areas in life, but that ain’t it,” Wade said, smiling. “But congratulations to him…or whoever he paid to get that.”

LeBron spoke about his style in the same context as well, and obviously, the King thought that GQ got the poll right.

“They got it right. I’m a little all over,” James said. “My style is like my game. I’m not just one-dimensional. I can shoot, I can pass, I can rebound, I can defend, I can do everything. That’s what my style is.”

Trust LeBron to use a basketball analogy to make a point about fashion. One way or another, both were having a good time joking around about the list. Wade and LeBron both have their own sense of style, and throughout the years, have served up some iconic looks for fans to enjoy.
