Stephen Curry and his love for knocking down three-pointers is nothing new. The Golden State Warriors superstar has always fancied long-range shots rather than finishing close at the rim.
At times, Curry makes shooting from a ridiculous distance look very normal. His three-point shooting skills have helped him at every step of his amazing career. Additionally, Steph’s three-point shooting ability has made a huge impact on the rest of the league as well.
It’s safe to say that Curry has changed the way that basketball is played in the modern era. It’s only fair that Steph also has a plethora of three-pointers related records to his name.
Those records include the most three-pointers made in a single NBA season as well. Curry set the record in the 2015-16 NBA season when he made 402 three-pointers in a single season.
Has Stephen Curry Surpassed Magic Johnson As The Best Point Guard Ever?
After winning the fourth NBA Championship of his career, many have started to debate whether Curry has surpassed Los Angeles Lakers legend Magic Johnson. An NBA fan on Twitter certainly implied that by sharing an interesting tweet about the two players.
Steph Curry made more 3s in one season than Magic Johnson made in his entire career. pic.twitter.com/GO8uxEPC68

At first look, it might seem like a huge deal. But we have to consider the fact that Magic and Steph played in two very different eras and NBA fans on Twitter made sure to make that point very clear below the original tweet.
So? You can dominate a game and be an all time great w/o 3s. This is a shit stat.

And still Magic is better than him, sad.

Some of you guys need to YouTube these older players. The disrespect they get on a daily basis is unreal.

Different PG from a different era. Steph is tight & I’m a fan but let’s not try to compare Steph to Magic or even try to insinuate Steph is better. Y’all internet peeps gettin’ outta control. Let Steph be Steph & leave his own stamp on the NBA just like Magic did✌🏾

Magic played 13 years & Wardell is in year 13 , but Magic has 5,000 more assists but still experts on here will say Wardell is a PG 😂

Different era dudes didn’t shoot 3s like that pic.twitter.com/kNuRNYMbGJ

Curry also attempted more 3s in a season than Magic did in his career. You clearly don’t know basketball.

Different time, different game… it was a big man’s game back then now the guards have the free range to “go off” whenever they’d like. Magic wasn’t a shooter either.

Every 3 that Magic hit was basically a clutch three his role wasn’t to hit threes he was the floor General! Steph is a scorer three pointers are a big part of his games that’s why as he touches the ball you have to defend him from the inbounds. Different players same greatness 👌🏾

Steph took 886 that season
Magic took 1,074 for his whole career

A lot of the time, when you debate players from two different eras, it can get interesting. But once in a while, a non-needed debate emerges on social media.
Both Steph and Magic are two of the best players to play at the point guard position. The two superstars played in two different eras but were dominant in their own way. At the end of the day, we should just appreciate their talents.
