Kevin Durant is having a comfortable offseason away from all the drama and rumors in New York, where his Brooklyn Nets have been racking their heads the entire summer to figure out how they keep their championship core of Kyrie Irving and KD together.
KD already has demanded a trade and asked for the head coach and GM to be fired, meaning the Nets can’t really have him back in the locker room and work with said coach and GM. Either way, it doesn’t look like the Nets are finding teams that will meet their asking price. Talks with even teams like Boston have stalled out.
While all of this unfolds in Brooklyn, KD has been on a tour of every place but New York. He was spotted in London and Barcelona with James Harden, leading to a laundry list of rumors linking KD to Philadelphia. Now, he has been spotted in Portland, participating in a charity softball game for former Nets teammate Mike James.

Durant is arguably the most notable player this offseason, so anything he does publicly is going to generate loads of attention. He hasn’t spoken publicly on his trade request even once, so the desire to have KD openly talk about leaving Brooklyn has been growing as well.
The NBA offseason is long, and many NBA players decide to make commitments outside the sport of basketball during this time. Mike James probably had this charity lined up for ages, and KD must have agreed to make an appearance for his friend a while back.
Whether KD is as good at hitting a ball as he is shooting it hasn’t been answered as the clip doesn’t show him actually hitting any balls. Either way, we hope Durant had a good time and is coming into the 2022-23 season raring to go after a rocky offseason for him and his Nets team.
