Jason Williams is making the rounds right now, thanks to his interesting takes on NBA-related matters. White Chocolate is a very outspoken person that doesn’t hesitate to express his opinion regardless of who can feel offended by that.
During a recent episode of his show, Williams spoke on several matters, including why LeBron James is the GOAT over Michael Jordan while also downplaying MJ’s six rings and more. But, that wasn’t the only thing he discussed, as he also revealed his top 5 current NBA players.
This is also a huge debate given all the great players who dominate the competition in the association. He knew it would be hard to please everybody with his picks, yet he went in and selected five players with no specific order (around the 19-minute mark):
“Giannis [Antetokounmpo] is up there in the top 5, Steph Curry’s in the top 5, Joel Embiid’s in my top 5, LeBron James is in my top 5, and there’s one more… Kevin Durant probably is in my top 5,” Williams said.
He was asked about the current NBA MVP, Nikola Jokic, but Williams had an interesting response to that.
“I’m a Jokic fan, but I think Jokic is like LeBron, but not yet nowhere near as athletic. And I don’t think he can carry a team through the playoffs like LeBron did in his Hay Day. But if I’m stuck with Jokic, I’m riding, I’m ok.”
These lists are always interesting because there are so many great players that you can include on them, and somebody will always have something to say about it. Williams has a pretty solid one, although he’ll surely find somebody who has a problem with it.
Giannis, Curry, Embiid, James, and Durant are the best of the best in the league, which makes it easy for them to be included in these tops.
