Dejounte Murray Explains Why He Disrespected Defender In CrawsOver Pro-Am By Bouncing Ball Off His Head: “His Head And Hands Was To Close To My S**t…”

There have been a number of NBA players sighted in pro-am runs over the course of this summer. It makes sense that players still want to play basketball even after the season is over and get some runs in.

Dejounte Murray is a player that recently went viral because of a video showing him disrespecting an opposing defender at the CrawsOver pro-am. The defender was face-guarding Murray, to which he responded by bouncing the ball multiple times off the defender’s head. Murray has recently spoken out about that incident, claiming that the defender’s “head and hands” were too close to him as well as telling him to back up.

Trae Young and John Collins were also present at the CrawsOver pro-am, and there’s no doubt that it’s good to see the Hawks star trio working out together over the course of the summer. Trae Young has previously claimed that Dejounte Murray can help the Hawks become a championship-caliber team, and it’s clear that he wanted to get the chemistry building down early.

I just know what type of player he is. I know what he can bring to our team. I wanna win championships in Atlanta. I think he can ultimately help take us to that level. We’ve been in the playoffs, we’ve been on a run, but he can take us to that next level.

It remains to be seen how far the Atlanta Hawks end up going next season. They notably disappointed this year, after making a surprise Eastern Conference Finals run in the 2021 playoffs.

With that being said, the addition of Dejounte Murray gives the Atlanta Hawks a new dimension on both ends of the floor. Perhaps we’ll see them win a championship during his time there, and with the talent they have, there’s a chance that it could happen.
