Russell Westbrook has had a tough year with the Los Angeles Lakers. He was often criticized for his inefficient and turnover-heavy play style, and many fans and analysts alike viewed him as one of the main problems for the Los Angeles Lakers during the 2021-22 season.

Recently, Russell Westbrook parted with his longtime agent, Thad Foucher, due to “irreconcilable differences”. Notably, Foucher believed that Russell Westbrook’s best option for next season was to stay with the Los Angeles Lakers.

Los Angeles Lakers star Russell Westbrook and his longtime agent, Thad Foucher of Wasserman, have parted ways, Foucher told ESPN on Friday night.

In a statement to ESPN, Foucher, one of the league’s prominent player representatives, cited “irreconcilable differences” and suggested that there was no longer full alignment with Westbrook about whether the former MVP should want to remain with the Lakers for the final season of his $47 million contract.

Foucher said that he believes Westbrook’s “best option is to stay with the Lakers, embrace the starting role and support that Darvin Ham publicly offered.”

It seems as though Russell Westbrook has found some new representation. Adrian Wojnarowski has recently revealed that Russell Westbrook has signed with agent Jeff Schwartz of Excel Sports Management.

Excel Sports for his representation, Westbrook told ESPN on Monday afternoon.

Hopefully, switching agents will be a move that ends up paying off for Russell Westbrook. Perhaps Jeff Schwartz can do a better job of helping Russell Westbrook with his goals.

As of right now, it is quite possible that Russell Westbrook ends up returning to the Los Angeles Lakers at the start of the season. Perhaps this upcoming season will be better for him, and it would be amazing to see Russell Westbrook have a bounce-back year, wherever it may be.
