Being a point guard is not an easy job by any means. The responsibilities of the floor general are a lot, and not many players can fulfill that. From making sure that the entire team is in synergy during the game to scoring a bunch of points yourself, a point guard has a lot depending on his shoulder.

Obviously, for any championship contender, a great point guard is very essential. Stephen Curry fulfilled that role for the Golden State Warriors during the team’s 2022 championship run.

But being a point guard on an NBA court and one on the playground of New York City are two completely different things. Over the years, NYC has given the NBA some pretty amazing point guards.

They all struggled a lot during their initial days but playing basketball in NYC helped them immensely. Anyway, Showtime is all set to release a documentary to feature some of these Point Gods.

During a promotion for the documentary, former NBA player Smush Parker revealed that he believes there is currently no point guard that can compete in the playground of NYC.

“That’s thought ’cause they don’t make us like they used to do. They don’t. I don’t know, come back to me in an hour.

Initially, Parker believed that there were no current NBA point guards that could survive the playgrounds in his city. But after a lot of thought, he took the name of Kyrie Irving.

In recent times, most people associate Kyrie with his shenanigans. But he is still an elite basketball player above all that drama. And if he stays healthy throughout the 2022-23 NBA season, fans will probably see what Kyrie is capable of.
