The Philadelphia 76ers are one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference right now. With the likes of Joel Embiid and James Harden leading the pack, the 76ers are one of the most stacked teams in the East and understandably a juggernaut in the NBA right now.
Given that they are one of the most talented teams right now and probably have one of the most intense fanbases of all-time, it is unsurprising to see that the 76ers often end up having the largest crowds. This was visible against the Miami Heat, where the animosity for the visitors was imminent. With the crowd coming up with the loudest cheers and the highest boos, Philly is surely one of a kind in terms of its fanbase and its community.
Apart from competing for championships, it seems like owners Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment want the community of Philadelphia even more welcome to their arena.

Recently, the 76ers revealed that they are planning to build a privately funded, purpose-built sports and entertainment arena known as the 76 Place. Worth a whopping $1.3 billion, the 76ers are planning to complete the project by the end of 2031. This is certainly a very ambitious project for the 76ers. Given the number of difficulties the franchise has seen, it is a well-deserved gift for the community.
Over the years, the franchise has established itself as a powerhouse in the Eastern Conference, and given the star power they have right now, they will hope that they can challenge for a title. While 2031 is still 9 years away, Philly will be focused on the upcoming season right now.
While they made it to the second round of the playoffs last season, their postseason run was disappointing. Especially with players like James Harden failing to step up, the 76ers unsurprisingly crashed out of the playoffs. For the upcoming season, though, the team has tried to add some more experience in their rotation and some impact free agents to their roster.
With a prime Joel Embiid and a hopefully fit James Harden, the 76ers are easily one of the best teams in the league on paper. Can they really step up to the expectations?
