Skip Bayless Calls Out Kyrie Irving’s Double-Standard After Reports He Could Take $30 Million Less To Join The Lakers: “Well, If You Think The Earth Is Flat & You Lost $17 Mil Refusing To Get Vaxed … Who Knows?”

Kyrie Irving’s time with the Brooklyn Nets has been anything but successful in anyone’s books. Initially, it appeared that Kyrie, alongside Kevin Durant, would change the fortunes of the franchise and help them win multiple NBA Championships.

Fast forward to 2022, and three seasons later, Kyrie is on the verge of leaving the Nets. The primary reason is due to the Nets not handing in a huge contract to the 30-year-old. You cannot blame the Nets for being skeptical, as Irvin has missed a huge chunk of games over the last three seasons.

The aftermath of this statement is the fact that the 1x NBA champion is apparently edging towards a reunion with LeBron James and joining the Los Angeles Lakers. Many reports have also claimed that Kyrie has already contacted James to discuss a potential reunion in the city of Angels.

It’s not as easy as it looks for Kai to join the Lakers. As reported by Adrian Wojnarowski, the Nets guard will need to take a $30 million pay cut to join the Lakers. Currently, the Lakers are believed to be the frontrunners to get Irving’s services, but will he take the pay cut?

If he decides to do so, NBA analyst Skip Bayless has already labeled him a hypocrite. Because with the Nets, he is looking forward to getting a huge contract, but he might be ready to take an enormous pay cut to join the Lakers.

“So would Kyrie take the Lakers’ $6 mil exception after demanding a 5-year, $250 mil extension from Nets??? Just to ‘right the wrong’ of falling apart w LeBron & demanding trade to Boston? Well, if you think the Earth is flat & you lost $17 mil refusing to get vaxed … WHO KNOWS?”

Despite all the rumors, there is still a lot of uncertainty around Irving’s future, either with the Nets or any other team in the NBA.

Once it is confirmed whether he accepts his player option or opts out of it, it will make things crystal clear for the fans. Then the ball will be in Kyrie’s court, and he could join any team as per his liking.
