Draymond Green Throws Shade At Celtics While Explaining Why He Wore All Black To Game 6: “It Was For A Funeral.”

Draymond Green is one of the best trash-talkers in the league, and there’s no doubt that he has a lot of reason to do that, as the Golden State Warriors have just captured the 2022 NBA championship.

During the series, Draymond Green went back and forth with the Celtics fans, with many of them trying to heckle him. Draymond Green definitely ended up getting the last laugh.

Ahead of Game 6, cameras captured Draymond Green showing up in an all-black outfit. Draymond Green has recently explained that the outfit “was for a funeral”. That is obviously him throwing shade at the Celtics and joking about their demise in Game 6.

Both the Boston Celtics and the Golden State Warriors’ fanbases have been going back and forth on social media, and it is understandable why Draymond Green had some words to say after the series is over. Stephen Curry has previously spoken about it, claiming that he thinks it’s “entertainment” and tries to “have fun with it”.

I’m the Petty King, so I know all about everything. I use it as entertainment and just have fun with it. The more you’re on the stage, the more you realize the attention that is on you, how much it means to each fan base, how much it means to the cities. So you can’t really be surprised by anything. There’s a lot at stake when it comes to winning championships.

Maybe back in the day, the first year, first two years, maybe things catch you off guard just because it’s so new, and you wonder how these narratives come up, all the distractions pop up here and there. I think the more you get into these environments, the more you use it as entertainment, fun, embrace it. Honestly, you wouldn’t want to have it any other way, knowing that you’re on this stage and you’re playing for something that really matters to a lot of people.

It remains to be seen how the Golden State Warriors and Draymond Green do next season. There’s no question that they could potentially win it all again next season, as their younger players will only get better.

Draymond Green is the heart and soul of the Warriors, and he often provides that gritty mentality that the team needs. Him being willing to trash talk is an example of that, and that is precisely what happened here.
