Kevin Durant has been making headlines recently with his words against NBA analysts. The Brooklyn Nets superstar isn’t shy to share his opinion on social media, even if that means going against the people in charge of assessing him and the rest of the players in the association.
After Stephen A. Smith claimed that Michael Jordan changed the game of basketball for the worse, Kevin Durant fired back at the ESPN analyst, saying that people like him, Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe have done the same, defending MJ and Stephen Curry for helping the game evolve.
Stephen A. already responded to Durant, explaining that he’s entitled to his opinion, but the fact that he doesn’t like some takes won’t make analysts go away just like that:
“You’re certainly entitled to your opinion. Love both MJ and Stephen Curry. Was only alluding to MJ being so great, it enticed folks to focus on individuality instead of team. Nothing more. As for us changing the game for the worse, we disagree. But here’s the news for you Kevin Durant. We ain’t going any damn place. For every Stephen A. Smith, Skip, Shannon Sharpe and others, there’s thousands more coming down the pike. We’re not going away. We multiply. Sorry!!!!”
Moreover, Smith’s former co-host Skip Bayless took to Twitter to send a message to KD. This is interesting knowing that Bayless has been a big supporter of Durant throughout the years. Well, that didn’t matter to the Fox Sports analyst, as he fired back at Durant and reminded him that he needed this energy against the Boston Celtics in the first round of the NBA playoffs:
“Hey, Kevin Durant, as an embarrassed longtime defender/supporter of yours, I just wish you’d had the same energy for the Celtics you do for your usual bashing of media critics. The Celtics made you (and me) look sorry. Enjoy watching the Finals.”
Kevin Durant won’t stop doing what he does. He enjoys going off on people on social media, and it seems like he’s had enough of the hot takes we see every day. Well, this mission won’t bring too many benefits to him, as Smith and Bayless and the rest have made it clear they won’t go anywhere no matter how much players despise them.
