The Golden State Warriors are all set to take on the young Boston Celtics in the 2022 NBA Finals. Despite being one of the best teams in the NBA over the last decade or so, many believe the Dubs will have a tough time playing against Jayson Tatum and co.

Of course, having a great attack is one of the reasons for it, but having an even better defense is what might give the Warriors nightmares in the best-of-seven Finals series. In order to make sure they do not succumb to that pressure, they need the absolute best from their cornerstone superstar, Stephen Curry.

So far Curry has had a good postseason run. Not his best, but still more than enough to help the Warriors advance to the NBA Finals. But on the biggest stage in the league, Steph will be defended by 2022 Defensive Player of the Year winner Marcus Smart.

Smart is incredibly skilled at what he does and he proved that by taking home the 2022 DPOY trophy. Additionally, over the last 5 seasons that Curry has been defended by Smart, it hasn’t been good for the Warriors superstar.

Looking at these stats, it’s quite shocking that arguably the best shooter of our time has been held to these measly numbers by Smart. Coming into the 2022 NBA Finals, these stats will prove to be a confidence booster for Smart and the rest of the team.

As for the Warriors, it is very concerning that their best player on the court has been subdued over and over again by Smart. Will Curry manage to finally score a good chunk of points against Marcus Smart? We will find out in a few days.
