John Salley Says LeBron’s Kid Will Know How To Deal With The Media: “I Think The Swag Will Be Great But I Also Think They’ll Have It Tougher Than LeBron Had, Way Tougher.”

While one may think it’s all roses to be in the shoes of a star’s kid, that isn’t always the case. The spotlight tends to be on them from a young age, especially in this social media era, and if they just so happen to follow their parent’s footsteps, then there are even more eyes on them.

That just so happens to be the case for Bronny James, son of NBA superstar LeBron James. Bronny has been in the eyes of the media for a long time now and that spotlight is only going to intensify as he gets closer and closer to entering the NBA. Four-time NBA champion John Salley was speaking to Vlad TV and Bronny’s name came up during the interview:

I think LeBron’s kid will know how to deal with the media. I think the swag will be great but I also think they’ll have it tougher than LeBron had, way tougher. (They’re) under a microscope but they know how to move that way. Like Kobe because his father was Jellybean and played in the pros and then was kinda famous in Italy, it was easier. So when he got into the league he kinda knew the way to go on about it. But going in (with) your father being one of the greatest ever, all you have to do is be as good as you can possibly be.

Salley makes a good comparison with Kobe Bryant here and all the years under the media spotlight while also learning tricks of the trade from LeBron should help Bronny when he eventually has to face the music in front of the press.

We’re not sure if it will be tougher than what LeBron faced because no athlete came into the league with more hype than the King back in the day. He came in with the tag of the “Chosen One” and has had to deal with an enormous amount of scrutiny over time. If all goes well, Bronny will get to play with his dad to start off his career, which should shield him a bit from that microscope that’s going to be on him.
