In 2013 Devin Booker Says He Wanted To Live In Dallas, Tweet Resurfaces After Huge Loss Against The Mavericks

3 Min Read

After the way the Western Conference Semifinals and the Phoenix Suns’ season ended on Sunday, Devin Booker likely doesn’t want anyone to even mention Dallas in his presence. The Mavericks humiliated the Suns in Game 7, Booker managed just 11 points and didn’t even make a field goal in the first half of the game.

And while Book surely wants nothing to do with Dallas until he has a chance to get his revenge next season, there was a time when Booker liked the city. In fact, in 2013, when he was just 16 years old, Booker tweeted saying he wished that he lived in a city like Dallas:

“I wished I lived in a bigger city.. Like Dallas! Lol.”

The tweet was found by NBA fans on Twitter, who have since proceeded to troll Booker about it. He earned himself a special place when it comes to earning hate from the Dallas fans after he flopped in Game 5 and dissed Luka Doncic by calling it ‘The Luka Special’. That backfired and fans aren’t going to let him forget about it:

“Booker knew all along that he wanted to watch the Luka Special in his 20s.”

“This is so iconic now.”

“Lmfaoo, I can’t believe this.”

“I bet you do, pal.”

“Sorry Devin, Dallas doesn’t want you, we have Luka.”

“Come cook on the bench as the seventh man.”

“We don’t want you though.”

“How they done found this tweet, man?”

“Life really comes full circle.”

“This has to blow up after that Game 7.”

“Time flies and really changes everything, huh?”

“Well he did play exactly like Dallas wanted him to in Game 7.”

Booker grew up in Grand Rapids, Michigan, which isn’t necessarily a small town but its size pales in comparison to Dallas. He went to high school in Mississippi too, so it’s understandable that at a young age, he was fascinated with moving to a bigger city. The tweet didn’t age well for Booker though, and it’s unlikely that he will be very welcome in Dallas after this series, anyway. The thought of him pairing up with Luka Doncic, though, certainly is quite a tantalizing one.
