The Golden State Warriors went to Memphis yesterday with the hopes of closing out their series against the Grizzlies with a win in Game 5. But that didn’t happen, as the Grizzlies dominated the Warriors without Ja Morant, blowing them out in a massive win that puts them back in the series.

The Warriors will now have to play a Game 6, something few fans expected, especially after the Warriors went up 3-1. But ESPN’s NBA Today program may have accidentally predicted the outcome of the game.

Prior to tip-off between the Grizzlies and the Warriors, ESPN’s NBA Today panel, featuring Malika Andrews, Richard Jefferson, and Kendrick Perkins, was getting set to discuss Game 5 of the Warriors-Grizzlies series.

When transitioning into a break, the camera panned back to the big LED board behind them, which surprisingly had ‘Warriors Lead 3-2’ written on it, despite the fact that the Warriors lead 3-1 at the time. The writing on the board would come true at the end of the night.

The Grizzlies were absolutely relentless last night. Memphis has shown that they are more than capable of winning games without Ja Morant, as they went 20-5 during the regular season when Ja Morant was out with an injury.

The Grizzlies defeated the Warriors three times during the regular season. They were confident that they could do it when it mattered the most.

Memphis knows that if they want to come back and win this series, they will have to do it without Ja Morant, who is out with a bone bruise and could be unavailable for the rest of the playoffs.

This performance will serve as the perfect confidence booster for the Grizzlies as they prepare for Game 6, which is a must-win for them if they want to keep this series alive.
