Quin Snyder Is Reportedly Less Interested In Coaching The Lakers Due To How They Handled Frank Vogel’s Departure

Frank Vogel has recently been fired by the Los Angeles Lakers. As such, this means that they will need a new coach before the start of next season. The Lakers job has its appeal, with stars Anthony Davis and LeBron James on the roster.

One of the coaching candidates that the Los Angeles Lakers have been linked with is Quin Snyder, who currently coaches the Utah Jazz. There’s no doubt that he would be a new face that could potentially implement a system better suited to the players on the roster.

However, it seems as though Quin Snyder’s interest in joining the Los Angeles Lakers has waned. Broderick Turner of the Los Angeles Times has recently revealed that Quin Snyder is “less interested” in the job because of the way the Lakers fired Frank Vogel.

“Snyder, who is known for having very good offensive sets and a solid defensive foundation, has led the Jazz to the playoffs for the sixth consecutive season. He was an assistant with the Lakers while on the staff of coach Mike Brown in 2011-2012. Not only is Snyder under contract with the Jazz for at least one more season, people not authorized to speak publicly on the matter said he has become less interested in the Lakers’ job because of how the Vogel firing was handled.”

The Los Angeles Lakers could potentially have some other options if Quin Snyder doesn’t want to leave the Utah Jazz. Doc Rivers has been touted as an option by some reports.

Hopefully, we see the Los Angeles Lakers figure things out and become more competitive next season. It is quite clear that this season was a disappointment to both the team and the franchise. Perhaps we’ll see them right the ship before next season, and compete for a championship once again.
