Kevin Durant Posts Instagram Stories And Fires Back At Charles Barkley For Being On Rockets And Sixers Superteams: “Where Would Chuck Be Without The Big Homies?”

Kevin Durant is not in for a very enjoyable summer in terms of media attention after his Brooklyn Nets were dumped out of the playoffs by a very motivated Celtics team in just 4 games. It’s already begun, considering how high the expectations from KD and his co-star Kyrie are, the duo has been labeled the most skilled to ever play together in the NBA by Tracy McGrady after all.

Charles Barkley, who’s never afraid to bluntly call it how he sees it, went after Durant with the sweep of the Nets being imminent. Speaking on Inside The NBA, Barkley called Durant a ‘bus rider’ during his two championship seasons with Golden State. He insinuated that KD won the championship by just being part of a great team, with another player being the main man on the team, Steph Curry.

While KD didn’t respond immediately, now that the pressure of the playoffs is over, he fired back at Chuck using Instagram. Durant posted multiple Instagram stories of Barkley on the floor with Scottie Pippen and Hakeem Olajuwon in Houston and pictures of him with Moses Malone and Julius Erving from his early days with the Sixers.

In all fairness to Charles Barkley, he was drafted by the Philadelphia 76ers, which means it wasn’t exactly his choice to join Dr. J and Moses Malone, although he did fail to win a title with the two superstars. His decision to join the Rockets to team up with Hakeem Olajuwon and Clyde Drexler, with Scottie Pippen eventually joining the fray though, could be described as chasing a ring in what was an unsuccessful attempt.

Regardless, KD talking his talk right now might not be the best idea, considering that the Nets sweep is fresh in the minds of everyone. But neither Barkley nor Durant have been known to keep their thoughts to themselves, so it will be interesting to see how the rest of this unfolds if and when Barkley decides to respond.
