After a couple of bad seasons, the Golden State Warriors have nearly returned to their dominant selves this season. As of now, the Warriors hold the third seed in the Western Conference with a record of 47-24.

However, things are not as great as they might look for the Dubs. Recently, it was revealed that their superstar Stephen Curry is out indefinitely due to a foot injury. The injury in question is the result of Marcus Smart’s alleged dirty play towards Steph.

But Curry broke the silence about it and said Smart didn’t try to hurt him. On the topic of dirty plays, Klay Thompson almost committed a dirty foul in the Warriors’ fixture against the San Antonio Spurs.

We are talking about the foul that Klay committed on Josh Richardson during the 4th quarter of the game. When Richardson attempted a three-point shot, Klay attempted a risky close-out, resulting in his leg below Richardson’s landing area.

Thompson was rightfully given a foul call as the move could have severely injured Richardson. Following the play, even Warriors head coach Steve Kerr gave Klay an earful.

It is apparent from the video that Kerr was visibly angry at Klay for that dirty play. Although it was a close call, hopefully, it wasn’t an intended foul from Klay.

After all, he knows better than anyone how much impact an injury can have on a player’s career. Thompson missed two full seasons due to injuries and is now finally back.

It took him some time to get adjusted, but he is playing well now. He is averaging 18.1 points per game so far in the 25 games that he has played. But considering the fact that there is uncertainty around Curry’s return, the franchise will expect Klay to further improve his scoring output come playoff time.
