Draymond Green is one of the fiercest players in the NBA today. Green is a constant fighter on the court, whether that be through his play or even his words. But Green has a tendency to let his temper get the better of him. And last night, that is precisely what happened, and it led to his ejection from the game.

During the game, Devin Vassell of the San Antonio Spurs drove to the basket and Draymond Green tried to contest his layup. But the referee called a shooting foul on Green, something he was not happy about. Green confronted the referee and got a technical, but Green only escalated the verbal attack on the referee, sharing his thoughts with some harsh choice of words.

“You f*cking p*ssy! You’re soft as f*ck!”

Green clearly let his temper get the better of him. After those comments, he argued with the referee a little bit more and told him it was a terrible decision on his end. This comment seemed to be the straw that broke the camel’s back, as the referee decided to call another technical foul on Draymond, and ejected him from the game.

Without Draymond, the Warriors would make a push and try to close the gap between themselves and the San Antonio Spurs. But they would eventually lose the game thanks to a last-second tip-in. One has to wonder whether the Warriors would have been able to avoid the loss if Draymond could have kept his composure and stayed on the court.

The Warriors are considered one of the favorites to win the NBA championship. Green will be tasked with a big role in any championship challenge the Warriors are able to make. He was named an All-Star this year and is playing at an extremely high level. And the Warriors clearly need him on the court for any title challenge they hope to mount.
