Patrick Beverley is a very hard-nosed player, something that has been evident throughout his career. He has made a name for himself by being a no-nonsense tough defender that plays winning basketball. Beverley is also one of the veterans of the NBA, which means he expects a certain level of respect from younger players.
It seems like Beverley doesn’t like any disrespect towards him, as evidenced by his actions after the Orlando Magic came to Minnesota to play the T’Wolves. Beverley had to leave the game early after getting cut open when he made a play for a rebound against Magic center Mo Bamba.
The game was a shock win for the Magic, but celebrations were dampened by an incident after the game, as narrated by Magic guard Terrence Ross on his Twitch channel.

“After the game, Mo Bamba is in his car getting ready to leave. Patrick Beverley finds his way into the players’ garage, knocks on Mo Bamba’s door, and asks for an apology. Security came in and tried to get in the middle of it. I guess Mo didn’t see Patrick walking up. Patrick walks up to his car, banging on the hood asking for an apology. It was the weirdest thing ever.”
Wow. Beverley went out of his way to get Bamba to apologize before he left the arena. Beverley probably believes Bamba must pay respect to the players on the court, thus creating the incident. If Bamba accidentally hurt Beverley, it was probably fair to expect an apology. His feud with Russell Westbrook and the principles behind it have already shown his mindset.
This goes to show another reason why Patrick Beverley is the hard-minded player that he is. Going this far to get an apology shows that the chip on his shoulder has only gotten bigger. He can get his revenge by making the playoffs, as the Magic became the first team eliminated from playoff contention after this game, despite their win.
