The Minnesota Timberwolves resurgence this season has been a delight to watch. For a team that has been rebuilding for a while now, the success this season is bringing has to be encouraging. They are looking to be a lock for the play-in with their team having found chemistry and consistency on the court with each other.
While the regular stars like Karl-Anthony Towns, Anthony Edwards, and D’Angelo Russell have been shouldering the load, the rest of the team has the ability to take over games. That is exactly what we saw from guard Malik Beasley who broke the Timberwolves franchise record for threes after making 11 of them against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Beasley ended the game with 33 points, having scored all his points exclusively on three-pointers, not even attempting a 2-point FG all game. This marks the most points ever scored in the NBA without attempting a two-point shot, a record that even Steph Curry cannot claim for himself.
Malik Beasley tonight:
◻️ 11/17 from the field
◻️ 11/17 from three
◻️ 33 PTS
It's the most points scored by a player in NBA history who scored all of his points on just threes. Malik, can we get your reaction?

Curry actually came close to doing something similar this season during the All-Star game. He scored his first 48 points exclusively on three-pointers before making a floater towards the end of the game to get a 50-piece. Curry made 5-more threes than Beasley did, but the record will go to the Timberwolves guard.
The Timberwolves are looking to end a 4-year playoff drought that stretches back to 2018 when they were the eighth seed with Jimmy Butler still on the team. They lost to the James Harden-led Houston Rockets 4-1 and haven’t made the playoffs since, with Butler leaving the team that off-season after disagreements with KAT and Andrew Wiggins.
The team has reformulated completely, with 2020 #1 overall pick Anthony Edwards joining the fray. Andrew Wiggins was traded for D’Angelo Russell and the current core was filled out to finally be competitive in the West again. With players like Beasley having nights like this, they may be a worrying team for a top seed in the playoffs.
