The Brooklyn Nets Have A 1-5 Record Since Kyrie Irving Asked Everyone To “Watch How The Squad Comes Together” After The All-Star Break

The Brooklyn Nets have been in a bit of an odd place this season. The team has been struggling mightily since the turn of the year and despite having Kevin Durant back in their last couple of games, have failed to get a win for themselves against the Miami Heat and the Boston Celtics. They have fallen below .500 and find themselves in the 9th seed spot in the Eastern Conference.

This isn’t how it was supposed to go for the Nets, who could have put a lot of their earlier struggles in the 11-game losing streak down to injuries and similar issues. However, since the All-Star break ended, the team has had important additions to their roster in Seth Curry and Andre Drummond but have still failed to string together any wins.

The Nets are 1-5 since the All-Star break, as pointed out by u/BolGOATBol on Reddit, this includes 2 losses to the Toronto Raptors to go along with 2 losses against the Boston Celtics. This is especially notable since Kyrie Irving had sent out a warning to fans that were doubting the team saying that they would come together after the All-Star weekend.

β€œJust watch how our squad comes out of this All-Star Break.”

There was a possibility that the vaccine mandate in New York could be lifted to allow Irving to play but that hasn’t ended up coming to fruition, which means Kyrie has played just 2 out of the 6 games since then. To his credit, he did lead them to their only win in that span, but his lack of consistency thanks to off-court issues continues to be a problem.

The Nets are in danger of falling further in the standings, the Hawks have almost the same record as them while the Wizards enjoyed an impressive win on Sunday night powered by a great debut by Kristaps Porzingis and are just 2 games back. Ben Simmons needs to get involved soon if Kyrie’s prediction of the team coming together is to come true.
