Jamie Foxx Says He Helped Shaquille O’Neal When He Had Beef With Kobe Bryant: “I’ve Known It For Years, Man. I Would Talk To Shaq When He Was Going Through S**t In LA.”

Jamie Foxx recently talked about his relationship with Los Angeles Lakers legend Shaquille O’Neal, and how he helped the Big Diesel during his worst times on the 17-time NBA champions.

The rapper and actor became an important figure in Shaq’s life, supporting him while things went bad with Kobe Bryant, offering him an escape to that situation. The Academy Award winner joined the ‘Full Send Podcast’ this week, where he revealed details of his relationship with the 4x NBA champion.

Foxx explained that he invited Shaq over to his house and hung out with him right after winning a championship, showing how cool he is (1:34:44).

“I’ve known it for years, man. I would talk to Shaq when he was going through sh*t in LA. Because it was tough. Him and Kobe was contentious and stuff,” Jamie Foxx said.

“But when they won the championship, you know what Shaq did? Shaq’s on Ventura, on a motorcycle, like 7’9″. I said ‘man, come to my house, right down the way’. So Shaq gets on a f**king chopper and rides down Ventura Boulevard. The whole city is following him and then he comes over to my crib and everybody’s there and he literally looked me. My crib looked so small when he walked in and then we hung out. We played like three on three or something like that. But he’s always been a cool dude.”

O’Neal didn’t have the best times on the Lakers when he beefed with Kobe. The situation was really tense between them and ended up with the center getting traded to Miami in 2004. His partnership with Kobe was lethal, but the relationship off the court was anything but good.

Fortunately, he found support in people like Foxx, who felt happy to help Shaq during those hard times.
